Unpaid Thessaloniki bus drivers warn of more strikes

After numerous transport disruptions in Thessaloniki, the union of bus drivers in the northern port city, OASTH, have warned they will take further industrial action if they do not receive October and November wages they are owed.

"If they don't pay us tomorrow, we won't have any money to buy our children milk," the union's president, Dimitris Tsermenidis, said on Monday.

Thessaloniki bus drivers threaten to resume strike

Bus drivers in Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, have threatened to resume strike action in protest at payment delays.

The president of the OASTH workers' union, Dimitris Tsermenidis, warned that drivers will walk off the job unless payments are made by October 12.

"We have no other means to claim unpaid work time," he said.

Bus drivers strike for 10th day in Thessaloniki, demanding unpaid wages

Thessaloniki bus workers walked off the job for the 10th day in a row on Monday, demanding three months in unpaid wages.

The workers gathered outside the offices of the Thessaloniki urban transport organization (OASTH) to protest.

In comments to the Athens-Macedonia News Agency, the head of the workers' union Dimitris Tsermenidis said employees have not been paid since July.
