Thessaloniki bus drivers halt 10-day strike

The roughly 2,300 employees of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization returned to work on Wednesday following a 10-day walkout after government officials reassured them they would receive some of their outstanding wages within the day.

In a statement to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the leader of the union representing the workers, Dimitris Tsermenidis, said employees had gone back to work but would resume their action if the government fails to honor pledges to pay wages for March and April.
