Saturday's opening of a Bulgarian cultural club in the North Macedonia town of Bitola named after Ivan Mihailov, a controversial 20th Century nationalist movement leader who became a Nazi collaborator, has been criticised as a threat to ongoing attempts to achieve a breakthrough in the two countries' dispute over history.

Parliament on 20th of March elected Stefka Stoeva as chairperson of the new Central Election Commission. The nomination of Stoeva came from the largest parliamentary group - GERB, reports BNT.

BSP President Kornelia Ninova will meet Macedonian Prime Minister and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev in Skopje on March 23rd. This was announced by the press center of the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

The consultations of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev with the parliamentary group of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) for Bulgaria started, according to FOCUS News Agency.

During a meeting today, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) formed their parliamentary group. It will be called "BSP for Bulgaria" and its chairman will be the BSP leader Kornelia Ninova, announced BGNES.

BSP has given up on its idea of abolishing the flat tax. However, a "rich people tax" has to be introduced. A 20% tax will have to be paid by people with monthly income of above BGN 10,000 from wages and rent, or people with an annual income of over BGN 120,000.

Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has denied Delyan Dobrev, who served under GERB's first government, committed any wrongdoing in relation to the Belene nuclear power plant (NPP).

Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov demanded that Dobrev's immunity be lifted amid a probe into Belene NPP.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) has elected Stefan Danailov, a cinema actor who rose to fame in iconic Bulgarian productions and some foreign titles, as a deputy to newly elected leader Korneliya Ninova.
