Russians to stop shipping gas to Serbia via Ukraine in 2019

Serbia will definitely be left without Russian gas shipped through Ukraine in 2019, "and will by then have to find a way to get gas."

Director of Serbia's state-owned gas enterprise Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic said this during Friday's regional Conference "Energy efficiency and perspectives", organized by Color Press Group in Novi Sad.

"EUR 30mn spent on South Stream, and we won't get it back"

Dusan Bajatovic has said that the money Serbia invested in the joint project South Stream "will not be returned."

The director of the state-owned natural gas enterprise Srbijagas also said that the South Stream pipeline project was "dead, and as such will not be built" - but added he believes Serbia will, sooner or later, start receiving gas from Russia "via a new route."
