#European Parliament elections2019/Banners and advertising materials of candidates in elections to EP must be removed by Friday at midnight

All electoral competitors must remove the banners and advertising materials they have used so far in the promotion activity before Friday at 24:00hrs, otherwise they will be sanctioned. The electoral campaign for the elections to the European Parliament begins Saturday, at 7:00hrs and ends on 25 May, at 7:00hrs.

Chamber suspends meeting for lack of quorum

The Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday suspended its plenary session for the lack of a quorum. Florin Iordache, chairman of the meeting, asked for a verification, which revealed that the quorum was not met as only 110 MPs were present. "There are 110 attendees; there is not a quorum. Given the circumstances, I have to suspend the session," Iordache said.

Flu death toll reaches 87

Another five persons died of flu, the death toll from this disease reaching 87, on Tuesday informed the National Public Health Institute (INSP).

Four of the five dead persons confirmed with the A-type flu virus were having preexisting medical conditions.

Parliament endorses Claudia Nicolae for AGERPRES director general

In a joint meeting on Tuesday, Parliament's culture committees endorsed Claudia Nicolae for director general of the AGERPRES National News Agency.

The decision was made by a majority vote. There were three abstentions.

Claudia Nicolae is nominated by the Government for this position.

By 13:00hrs in the referendum for redefinition of the family have cast their ballots 11.67pct of the Romanian citizens with a right to vote, according to data centralised and released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).

The total number of the voters who have shown up by 13:00hrs is 2,134,579, out of which in the urban milieu 1,150,608 persons and in th rural milieu 983,971.
