Disney Legends honored at ceremony
Disney bestowed "legends" status on 14 artists, including Harrison Ford, Angela Bassett and Miley Cyrus, who have shaped the company.
The honorees, who the company says have had a "significant impact" on Disney's legacy, include director James Cameron, iconic film composer John Williams, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Ripa, among several others.

‘Alien' director teases how the new film connects
Ridley Scott's "Alien" was back in theaters on April 26 for its 45th anniversary and to get audiences excited about the new installment coming in August.

James Cameron drawings inspired Hollywood blockbusters
James Cameron, the mastermind behind "The Terminator," "Aliens" and "Titanic," has an exhibition opening in Paris yesterday showcasing his lesser-known skills with pencil and paper.
"The Art of James Cameron" is at the Cinematheque Francaise until January.
Fantasy franchise revived with live-action
A new entry in the "Avatar" franchise is about to soar and James Cameron has no part in it.
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is a completely different fictional world from Cameron's Pandora but the two similarly named dueling sci-fi fantasy properties have kept throwing out new entries over the decades.

Open-air film nights in Ayvalık
Seyir Association (Eye Society- For all watching occasions), which organizes the Ayvalık International Film Festival every year, kicks off the season with the Open Air Film Night Series to be held between June 24 and July 2.
A series of 10 films selected from world festivals will be screened in the seaside garden of the New Ayvalık Municipal Building (former Tax Office).
