Serbia marks 24 years since the beginning of NATO aggression
The order for the attack was issued by Javier Solana, the Secretary General of NATO at the time, to the then commander of the allied forces, US General Wesley Clark, although there was no UN Security Council approval. It was an obvious precedent.

The sirens were heard for 78 days and the total number of casualties was never determined. An estimated 1,200 to 2,500 people were killed in the 11 weeks, with total material damage estimated at tens of billions of dollars.
The attack on Serbia, or the FRY, was carried out without UN Security Council approval, which was a precedent.

This was done a day after the UN called on the Yugoslav government and the Kosovo Albanians to end conflicts and violence in Kosovo and Metohija.
The North Atlantic Council then (on September 24, 1999) approved its act, in a statement signed by NATO Secretary General Javier Solana.

15th anniversary of Kumanovo Treaty
BELGRADE - This Monday marks the 15th anniversary of the Military Technical Agreement known also as the Kumanovo Treaty, which was signed on June 9, 1999, ending NATO's 79-day long bombing campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia that killed at least 2,500 and injured more than 12,500 people.

Serbia marks 15th anniversary of NATO bombing campaign
BELGRADE - Serbia is on Monday marking the Remembrance Day for the victims of the NATO bombing campaign which killed around 3,000 and wounded around 12,000 people 15 years ago.
During the 78-day air raids, 1,008 Yugoslav Forces troops and Serbian policemen were killed, as well as around 1,500 civilians, including 89 children, while about a dozen people remain missing.
