Museum of Anatolian Civilizations turns 100

 

On a plate hanging on the entrance of a museum, located at the foot of the Ankara Castle in the Turkish capital Ankara, there is the seal of Hittite King IV Tuthalia (1250-1220 B.C). Along with it, "Anatolian Civilizations Museum 1921" is written.

But behind that plate is hidden an extraordinary history of civilization.

Fighting fears of vaccines high up in Turkey’s mountains

Turkish doctor Sergan Saraçoğlu faces the twin hurdles of a snowstorm in the mountains and local fears of vaccines as he chases after alarmed villagers with a metal case full of needles.

Theater actors and actresses on Dec. 25 staged a public performance to raise awareness on the novel coronavirus pandemic in eastern Turkey.

The Almila Theater Workshop started their efforts on the streets of Elazig province to draw attention to the COVID-19 outbreak, taking up the slogan, The virus is among us.
