Russian, Turkish diplomats discuss Libyan crisis

Moscow hosted expert consultations of Russian and Turkish diplomats on Libya on Dec. 23, Russian Foreign Ministry said on Dec. 24.

The talks were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers, Russia's Mikhail Bogdanov and Turkey's Sedat Önal headed the delegations, the ministry said in a statement published on its official website.

Russia, Turkey and Iran Discuss Meeting on Syria in Kazakhstan

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday that Russia, Turkey and Iran had discussed a possible meeting of their foreign ministers on Syria, which could be held in Kazakhstan's Astana in March, the TASS news agency reported.

Bogdanov also warned against escalation in the Middle East after Israeli strikes on Syria, the RIA news agency said.

Russia summoned Israeli ambassador over Syria strikes

The Russian Foreign Ministry on March 20 said it had summoned Israel's ambassador to the country over air strikes close to Moscow's forces near the historic Syrian city of Palmyra.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told Interfax news agency that Ambassador Gary Koren was summoned on March 17 and "asked about" the strikes, AFP reported.

Nikolic, Bogdanov discuss tensions, risks to region

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic spoke in Belgrade on Friday with Russian Deputy FM and presidential adviser Mikhail Bogdanov about the political situation in the region and the dangers of heightening tensions in some countries.

Serbia has a great interest in maintaining peace and stability as the basic prerequisite for its further progress and development, Nikolic said.
