Decrease in Russian, Ukrainian Tourist Numbers at 10-20% - Bulgarian Minister

The forecast dramatic 60-70% decrease in the number of Russian and Ukrainian tourists is proving to be a false alarm, with bookings indicating a 10-20% decline, according to Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova.

In a Thursday interview for Nova TV, Angelkova underscored that bookings by German, Israeli, and Austrian tourists were encouraging.

The star of Bollywood cinema Ajay Devgan will participate in a promotional video on Bulgaria advertising the country as a tourist destination, which will be broadcasted in India.

Minister Expects 5 % Rise in French Tourists to Bulgaria after Louvre Exhibition

Minister Nikolina Angelkova said on Friday that a 5 % increase in the number of French tourists to Bulgaria was expected in the summer after the exhibition of Thracian treasures in the Louvre.

Angelkova stated this during the regular parliamentary control and added that an increase was also expected in the number of tourists from Poland, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Macedonia and Austria.

Bulgarian PM, Nine Ministers to be Questioned in Parliament

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and nine ministers will respond to questions of MPs at the regular parliamentary control on Friday.

Bulgarian Tourist Attractions to Appear in Online Register

Online register of the tourist attractions in Bulgaria will be soon available at the website of Tourist Ministry.

This was announced by Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova, who was on a visit to Ruse on Thursday, Darik radio reports.

The information gathered from all municipalities, showed that there were more than 20 000 tourist attractions on the territory of Bulgaria.
