The United States and China have no agreement on further tariff reductions, world agencies said.

China has announced that it is actively cooperating with the United States in connection with the signing ceremony of the first phase of the trade agreement between the two countries, Reuters reported.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the comment at a regular briefing today but did not specify a date.

The U.S. and China are planning two rounds of face-to-face meetings as they seek to wrap up a trade deal, with negotiators aiming for a signing ceremony in late May or early June, according to people familiar with the situation.

President Trump announced Sunday that the US and China had made "substantial progress" in their trade talks and that he was postponing raising tariffs on Chinese goods while a deal is finalized, FORBES writes.
