Coup-busting Turkish spy dies at 81
Mahir Kaynak, a former intelligence official famous for uncovering a military coup attempt in the early 1970s, was laid to rest in Istanbul on Feb. 16.
Kaynak, who worked as an analyst until recently, died on Feb. 14 at his home in Istanbul, at the age of 81.

Turkish opposition's nightmare: Syriza and Tsipras
Turkey?s leftists and secular middle-class voters may be overjoyed and excited about the Syriza victory next door. But it is actually a nightmare for the upper ranks of the main opposition Republican People?s Party (CHP) and other small opposition parties like Emine Ülker Tarhan?s Anadolu Party (AP). I am leaving Do?u Perinçek?s Labor Party outside of this duo for a specific reason.

President Erdo?an pays condolence visit to former President Süleyman Demirel
President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has made an unscheduled visit to former President Süleyman Demirel to offer condolences for the death of his brother.
This was also the first meeting between the two politicians since Erdo?an was elected president last August.
