New KFOR commander takes over

PRISTINA - Italian General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo assumed at a ceremony in Pristina on Wednesday the post of KFOR commander in Kosovo.

His predecessor, General Salvatore Farina, turned over the commanding duties to Figliuolo.

The ceremony was held at the KFOR base in Film City, Pristina, and Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga thanked Farina for his work at the head of KFOR.

VS and KFOR to strengthen joint patrols

BELGRADE – In the wake of the murder of a member of the Serbian Gendarmerie that occured in the night between Wednesday and Thursday, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (VS) Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander Salvatore Farina agreed Thursday to urgently strengthen joint VS-KFOR patrols, especially in the areas where yesterday's illegal logging had been spotted.

Dikovic, Farina: No major incidents

PRISTINA - The Kfor commander, Italian General Salvatore Farina, and the Chief of Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubisa Dikovic, have discussed in Pristina the security situation in Kosovo and along the administrative demarcation line, concluding that there are no major incidents that could be a threat to security and freedom of movement.

Farina: Security situation in Kosovo improved

PRISTINA- KFOR Commander General Salvatore Farina said on Wednesday the security situation in Kosovo had improved.

He met at the KFOR headquarters in Pristina with the mayors of four northern Kosovo municipalities where Serbs are the majority to discuss the general situation in Kosovo, particularly focusing on the situation in the north of the territory.

Dikovic, Farina discuss cooperation and situation in KiM

BELGRADE - Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (VS), Lt.Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic, and Kosovo Force (KFOR) Commander, Maj. Gen. Salvatore Farina, met in the southern Serbian city of Nis on Thursday to discuss the current situation on the ground in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) and in the Ground Safety Zone in southern Serbia.
