Measures being planned to increase births
The birth allowance is increasing permanently and retroactively by 400 to 1,500 euros for births that took place from January last year, depending on the number of children. This is the allowance introduced as of January 1, 2020, amounting to €2,000 for each child born.

Gov’t announces support measures for new parents
The government has introduced a new set of measures to assist new parents in addressing the challenges posed by the current cost-of-living crisis. National Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis and Social Cohesion and Family Minister Sofia Zacharaki unveiled these measures on Monday.

Social cohesion ministry will ‘strengthen family’
The new Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family will work on "strengthening the family" and on the "harmonization that must exist between professional and family life," its first minister has said.
Sofia Zacharaki was speaking at the handover ceremony at the former Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, which will be split in two to create the new ministry.

Albanian visitors to Greece break receipts record in 2022
