Bulgarian Airlines Association Explores Sofia Airport's Transit Hub Potential
Svetoslav Stanulov, chairman of the Association of Bulgarian Airlines (ABA), has emphasized the need to assess Sofia Airport's potential as a hub for transit and transfer flights. In a recent statement, cited by BTA, Stanulov underscored the critical role such a transformation could play in enhancing connectivity, positioning Bulgaria as a pivotal player in the air travel network.
Bulgarian Airlines Are in for Mass Bankruptcies
Financial grants compensating for part of the lost revenues would greatly support the Bulgarian airline industry. Airlines are in dire need of additional support, Svetoslav Stanulov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Association of Bulgarian Aviation Companies, told BNR. The association's members are about 80% of the Bulgarian companies and maintenance bases.

18% has Increased the Passenger Flow Through the Bulgarian Airports for 2017
2017 was good for Bulgarian aviation, with a significant increase of the passengers transported by about 18 per cent. A total of 11,500 thousand passengers were transported by regular and charter flights to and from Bulgaria during the past year.

Airports in Bulgaria have handled a record number of almost 7 M international flight passengers in 2013 which is a 4% growth compared to previous year.
