Turkey's Forest and Waterworks minister has said the country's fire response time has decreased from 40 minutes in 2003 to 15 minutes in 2015, dramatically diminishing the amount of forest land destructed in each fire. 

U.S.-based Verifone has acquired a stake in Turkish technology company Panorama, a majority stake of which is owned by the son of the Forestry and Water Affair Minister Veysel Ero?lu, according to sources close to the matter. 

NASA has responded to remarks by Turkish Forestry and Waterworks Minister Veysel Ero?lu, who raised eyebrows by claiming that Turkey's technology on meteorological weather forecasts is more advanced than that of the space agency.
