Putin says Turkey's leaders back 'Islamisation' of Turkish society: Agencies
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Nov. 25 said Turkey's political leaders had been encouraging the Islamisation of Turkish society, something he said was a problem, Russian agencies quoted him as saying.
Speaking a day after Turkey shot down one of Moscow's jets, Putin said:
"The problem is not the tragedy we witnessed yesterday," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.

The most serious tension between Turkey and Russia
The Russian Su-24 plane downed by Turkish F-16s on the morning of Nov. 24 near the Syrian border was the first Russian (or Soviet) war plane hit and downed by a NATO country since the organization was founded in 1949, after World War II.

The Russian jet and the Turkish presidency
Yesterday, at around 9 a.m. in the morning, Turkey downed a Russian fighter jet right at the Syrian border. According to the Turkish Chief of Staff, the plane had violated Turkish air space "for five minutes, despite being warned 10 times." Russia said there was no violation and that Turkey had downed the plane while it was in Syrian airspace.

The conflict between Russia and Turkey is escalated after a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey in the Turkey-Syria borders with Russian President Vladimir Putin stating that Russia has being “stabbed in the back” and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying the Russian aircraft violated Turkish airspace.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that his country exercised its "international right and national duty" by downing a Russian warplane which the authorities in Ankara said had violated the Turkish airspace.
Turkey has the right to take "all kinds of measures" against border violations, Davutoglu said on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

Turkey's stocks fell 4.39 percent and its debt insurance costs rose on Nov. 24 after it reportedly shot down a Russian fighter jet near the Syrian border, while other emerging assets also struggled in the face of a strong dollar and weak commodities.
