Putin says Turkey's leaders back 'Islamisation' of Turkish society: Agencies

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Nov. 25 said Turkey's political leaders had been encouraging the Islamisation of Turkish society, something he said was a problem, Russian agencies quoted him as saying.

Speaking a day after Turkey shot down one of Moscow's jets, Putin said: 

"The problem is not the tragedy we witnessed yesterday," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying. 

Bulgarian Ambassador in Ankara: Worsened Russia-Turkey Ties Could Increase Refugee Wave

Bulgarian ambassador to Turkey, Nadezhda Neynski, said on Wednesday that the worsening of relations between Russia and Turkey could lead to an increase in the refugee wave.

In an interview for private NOVA TV, Neynski commented the downing of the Russian Su-24 warplane by Turkish fighter jets near the Turkish-Syrian border on Tuesday.

Yesterday, at around 9 a.m. in the morning, Turkey downed a Russian fighter jet right at the Syrian border. According to the Turkish Chief of Staff, the plane had violated Turkish air space "for five minutes, despite being warned 10 times." Russia said there was no violation and that Turkey had downed the plane while it was in Syrian airspace.

The conflict between Russia and Turkey is escalated after a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey in the Turkey-Syria borders with Russian President Vladimir Putin stating that Russia has being “stabbed in the back” and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying the Russian aircraft violated Turkish airspace.

Turkey to Take 'All Kinds of Measures' to Defend Borders, PM Davutoglu Says  

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that his country exercised its "international right and national duty" by downing a Russian warplane which the authorities in Ankara said had violated the Turkish airspace.

Turkey has the right to take "all kinds of measures" against border violations, Davutoglu said on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.
