One of the most important operas about Turks, "Mehmet II (Maometto II)" by Gioachino Rossini, one of the most important composers of romantic-era opera, and librettist Cesare della Valle, will be premiered by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) at the Atatürk Cultural Center - Türk Telekom Opera Hall on Feb. 24.

The 14th International Istanbul Opera Festival opens today at Atatürk Cultural Center's (AKM) Türk Telekom Opera Hall and Theater Stage and will take place through June 22.

The 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival will start with the "7 Tenor" concert at Haliç Congress Center Open Air Stage on July 16. The event will feature four major opera works and a concert to be staged by the Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Directorates until July 30. All works within the scope of the festival will be staged at 9 p.m.

The 8th International Istanbul Opera Festival will meet art lovers between June 13 and 23, kicking off with Mozart's famous "Abduction from the Seraglio," staged by Yekta Kara. 

The opera, conducted by Zdravko Lazarov, will be performed by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet on June 13, 14 and 15 in the garden of the Istanbul Archaeology Museum.
