Turkey to reopen Mount Ağrı to climbers
Mount Ağrı in eastern Turkey, also known as Mount Ararat, will be reopened to climbers on Feb. 4, thanks to effective anti-terror operations.
The country's tallest mountain, dubbed the "roof of Turkey" with its height of 5,137 meters (16,853 feet), is located in the eastern border province of Igdir.

Turkish forces 'neutralize' 9 PKK terrorists in N Iraq
Turkish security forces "neutralized" at least nine PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry announced on Aug. 15.
Three of the terrorists were neutralized in air-backed operations in Haftanin, and another six terrorists in the Zap and Avasin regions, the ministry said on Twitter.
Turkish soldiers, Red Crescent help elderly
The Turkish Armed Forces and Red Crescent volunteers helped an elderly man with chronic lung disease get a new oxygen tank on April 17 in eastern Turkey.
Mehmet Kahraman, 81, lives in Sulucem village in Ağri province and suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). When his oxygen tank went empty, he called 156, the emergency number for the Gendarmery Forces.

People fined for violating Turkey’s virus rules
A large number of people across Turkey have been fined for violating the rules the government has introduced to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The country's health minister has said the coronavirus is in every province in Turkey, with Istanbul, İzmir and Ankara, the three largest cities, has reported the highest number of cases.

More than 20 Afghan migrants injured in traffic accident in Turkey's Ağrı
Twenty-one undocumented migrants, including three women, from Afghanistan were injured when a minibus carrying them rolled over into a ditch in the Diyadin district of the eastern province of Ağrı, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Aug. 28.
'Missing child' Leyla died of starvation: Governor
A four-year-old girl whose dead body was found on July 2 in the eastern province of Ağrı lost her life due to starvation as initial findings have not determined beating or sexual abuse, Ağrı Governor Süleyman Elban said on July 3.
