Social-distancing Greek style: shimmy and sing from your car
Hundreds of Greeks danced and sang from their cars at a drive-in music concert, the first such event since the country banned mass gatherings to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Cocaine found inside stolen car in southern Athens
Officers of police's DIAS motorcycle-riding unit found two kilos and 210 grams of cocaine inside a vehicle parked in Athens' southern district of Glyfada on Friday.
The drugs were divided in four packages, police said.
The car had been reported stolen and had no license plates.
The investigation has been handed over to the Attica Security's Anti-Drugs Squad.

Greece 2nd in Blue Flag awards in the world
Greece clinched second spot in the world in the number of blue flags with 486 of its beaches receiving the award, announced the Hellenic Society for the protection of Nature (HSPN), with 12 Greek marinas also picking up blue flags. Greece had 25% of the total of the 47 countries that took part in the international program, with the region of Chalkidiki getting 71.

“Red Night” at Glyfada as 100 violent protestors clashed with shoppers
The Municipality of Glyfada’s ‘Red Night’ shopping was supposed to be a festive Christmas event with shops open until midnight. Crowds gathered to welcome the event, but there were reactions by protestors opposed to extended shopping times. They clashed with shoppers who tried to enter stores.

The most delicious festival will take place in Athens from Friday, December 11 to Sunday, December 13 in the Municipal Sports Centre Glyfada – Makis Liougas.

Pol leaders vote in Greek referendum
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos voted in the upscale Psychiko district in north-central Athens considered the “diplomatic row” in the Greek capital.
Pavlopoulos, an attorney and veteran politician and minister from the conservative New Democracy party, urged unity in the country regardless of the referendum result.

Glyfada Municipality refuses to dig up dead and close illegal cemetery
The Municipality of Glyfada insisted on Thursday that a cemetery it opened in 2011 is perfectly legal and indicated that it would defy a central government order to dig up and remove the bodies that had been buried there as well a demolishing a small chapel.
