Turkish couples flock to marriage offices to marry on palindrome date
Dozens of Turkish couples flocked to marriage offices across the country on Feb. 2 to tie the knot as some couples consider it lucky to marry on a palindrome date.
Since the date of Feb. 2 can be shortened as 2-2-22, which is just too much synchronicity for pattern-lovers, some couples were hoping the day would turn out to be memorable.
Renewed sinkholes welcome tourists in Mersin
Located in the southern province of Mersin, the historical sinkholes, one of which is called "Heaven" with its 70-meter-deep green nature, and the other called "Hell" with its 128-meter-scary structure, are expecting to host 500,000 tourists in a year with their renewed look.

22-year-old Dutch tourist goes missing in Turkey's south
A Dutch tourist went missing in the Silifke district of the southern province of Mersin where he was holidaying, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The 22-year-old man identified as Joey Hoffman had come to the country for vacation in early July with two of his friends, travelling around Mersin and the neighboring Adana province with a rented car.
Ancient mosaic symbolizes life and luxury
A mosaic that has been unearthed during excavations in the ancient city of Olba in the southern province of Mersin's Silifke district has been removed in 16 different panels and placed under protection.
According to a statement made by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, the mosaic was found by a Gazi University team headed by Professor Ay?e Emel Erten.
