Bulgaria: Social Homes about to Close due to Heating Bills

Centers for work with people at risk are about to close due to unaffordable electricity and gas bills.

The ombudsman Diana Kovacheva warned in a letter to state institutions that more than 24 non-governmental organizations, providers of social services, are seeking assistance because they cannot cover their costs for electricity, natural gas and salaries.

COVID-19: Changes in Classes of Students in Bulgaria

The growth of coronavirus patients has imposed new restrictions on teachers and students in the country.

CEZ Distribution to Make Huge Investment in Blagoevgrad Region in 2017

During the peak of the summer CEZ Distribution started 43 investment projects. There will be allocated BGN 1.5 million in the electricity distribution network of Western Bulgaria.

Reconstructions in Sofia will cost  BGN 500,000, and the rest of the funds will go to the municipalities of Troyan, Blagoevgrad, Vratsa, Pernik and Montana.

CEZ Distribution Bulgaria to Invest EUR 765,000 in Grid Upgrades in July

CEZ Distribution Bulgaria, a unit of Czech power utility group CEZ, said on Monday it intends to invest BGN 1.5 million (EUR 765,000) in electricity grid upgrades in July, according to SeeNews.

The company is launching 43 projects this month, with the largest one worth BGN 1.0 million to be implemented in Troyan municipality, CEZ Distribution said in a statement.
