Three security officers killed, 10 wounded in clashes in Turkey's southeast
Three security officers have been killed while 10 police officers have been wounded in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern Turkish provinces of Diyarbak?r and ??rnak.
PKK militants attacked a police shuttle vehicle with a rocket launcher at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 in ??rnak's central Yeni Mahalle neighborhood.
World's oldest man dies at 112 in Japan
The world's oldest man, Yasutaro Koide, died on Jan. 19 at the age of 112 in central Japan, a local official said.

Third bridge over Bosphorus sees small delay
The third bridge over Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait will be operational by June or July this year, a few months later than the scheduled opening date, due to the ongoing construction of connecting roads, Transport Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m has said.

Historical moneys in Turkish fair
The "Abullionaire - 2016 Istanbul Money Fair" will be held in Istanbul's Grand Cevahir Hotel between April 15 and 17.
The fair, which is organized by collector and businessman Ahmet Sand?kç?, will be joined by nearly 400 collectors from some 20 countries and display historical banknotes and coins from around 40 countries.

Baby ape recovers after ordeal
A baby orangutan found abandoned and almost dead has made a swift recovery at an Indonesian rescue center, and has been filmed playing happily with another young ape.
Gito was discovered dumped in a cardboard box in August under the baking sun on the Indonesian part of Borneo island, with rescuers initially believing the primate was dead due to his "mummified" appearance.

Airbus, Uber team up for on-demand helicopter rides
European aircraft maker Airbus has said it is teaming up with global ridesharing service Uber to test plans for offering an on-demand helicopter service.
Airbus' new Silicon Valley-based innovation center "is collaborating with terrestrial mobility provider Uber on a market pilot to provide an on-demand transportation service", it said in a statement on Jan. 17.
Pakistan lifts ban on YouTube after launch of own version
Pakistan said on Jan. 18 that it had removed a three-year ban on YouTube after the Google-owned video-sharing website launched a local version that allows the government to remove material it considers offensive.
