Istanbul’s historical places increase visitor numbers

As Istanbul's historical sites are flooded with visitors, historical structures affiliated with the National Palaces in the country welcomed more than 7 million visitors in 2023.

The number of visitors to the palaces, mansions, pavilions and museums increased by 9 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching 7,261,241.

100 warships conduct historic parade on Türkiye’s centenary

Some 100 warships have sailed and carried out an unprecedented procession on Istanbul's Bosphorus in the Turkish Navy's largest parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of modern Türkiye on Oct. 29.

Scores of Istanbulities flocked to the coastlines or the hills of the city, where they were able to witness the historic navy procession.

Istanbul's Çamlıca Tower, known as the tallest structure in the city, has welcomed over 1.19 million visitors this year, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that Çamlıca Tower has recently become the center of attention in the metropolitan.

Erdoğan: We embrace Istanbul

The government is trying to pay its "debt of gratitude" to Istanbul by protecting its historical and cultural fabric, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.

"We love this city, which was entrusted to us by Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Ulubatlı Hasan, with all its districts," Erdoğan said on June 16 during a ceremony to reopen the Vaniköy Mosque in Üsküdar following restoration works.
