Demolition begins on illegal structures in Istanbul’s Üsküdar

Demolition actions have commenced on an illegal structure in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, where unauthorized construction was halted last month.

The area, overlooking the Bosphorus in the Vaniköy neighborhood, has been under scrutiny following the discovery of building violations.

New tramline to connect central Istanbul districts

The Istanbul Municipality council approved a project for a new tramline, which is envisioned to connect three districts of the city's Asian side.

Named "AnadoluTRAM" previously, the new tramline is designed to link the districts of Üsküdar, Kadıköy and Maltepe, with the proposal confirmed by majority of votes in the council held by the municipality on June 11.

Istanbul’s historical places increase visitor numbers

As Istanbul's historical sites are flooded with visitors, historical structures affiliated with the National Palaces in the country welcomed more than 7 million visitors in 2023.

The number of visitors to the palaces, mansions, pavilions and museums increased by 9 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching 7,261,241.
