Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) held 6,000 operations based on tips given regarding FETÖ, PKK, YPG and ISIL through its website in 2018, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 26.

The U.S.-backed YPG, the Syrian offshoot of the illegal PKK, has handed 280 Iraqi and foreign ISIL detainees to Iraq, 14 of whom are French citizens, in recent days, Iraq's military said in a statement on Feb. 24.

An Istanbul court has canceled a previous order obligating academic Gülsün Güvenli to pay a visit of condolence to the family of a police officer killed in a PKK attack in 2015.

Security forces have arrested 735 suspects who were allegedly plotting an attack on the anniversary of the capture of the outlawed PKK's jailed leader ahead of the local elections in Turkey, security sources said on Feb. 17.

The jailed leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Abdullah Öcalan, was captured and brought to Turkey on Feb. 15, 1999. Turkey had taken the risk of going to war if necessary when it called on Syria to return Öcalan, according to a retired ambassador who was the deputy undersecretary of the Turkish Foreign Ministry at the time.

An Istanbul court has ordered Gülsün Güvenli, who is standing trial for signing a 2016 petition calling for peace in the country's southeast, to pay a condolence visit to the family of a police officer killed in a PKK attack in 2015.

Turkey and Serbia should aim to increase their bilateral trade volume to $2 billion in the near future, Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu said on Feb. 12.

A Turkish delegation will visit Washington on Feb. 5 for the meetings of Turkey-US working groups on Syria, fight against PKK and on consular issues. On Feb. 6, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will participate anti-ISIL meeting in Washington and is likely to have talks with his American counterpart Pompeo.

Turkey's vice president said on Feb. 2 that Ankara would "not allow terrorist lairs" to exist across its southern border, referring to the YPG/PKK in Syria.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Sept. 27 dismissed a complaint filed by the PKK's imprisoned leader, Abdullah Öcalan.
