Air passenger data fly high

Greek airports are enjoying another year of growth in passenger traffic, which came to an impressive 10.3 percent in the first six months of 2017, according to official data. Athens airport has also recorded a notable rise, helped by the increase in flights.

Athens, an oppressive city

The other night, I was noticing the crowds of foreign tourists in Athens. Areas between Monastiraki and Syntagma were packed, and I had to jostle through crowds on the sidewalk. The restaurants on Mitropoleos Street were packed.

Anne Carrere stars in the hit show on the life and songs of France's iconic Edith Piaf, created by Gil Marsala. The production is on a summer tour of Greece and will be stopping in Athens, for a performance at the open-air Petra Theater in Petroupoli on Wednesday, July 12, and another at the Veakeio in Piraeus the following day.

Funky Souvenirs | Athens | July 11 - October 8

The fifth annual installment of the "It's all, oh so souvenir to me!" initiative brings together more than 40 graphic designers, architects, artists, etc, who have been invited to redefine the Greek souvenir and, by extension, Greece's tourism identity. New heatwave to hit Greece

The Greek National Meteorological Services (EMY) has issued an extraordinary bulletin for a new heatwave over the next days. The reports warns that the temperature will gradually rise, peaking at 40-41 on Thursday, July 12.
