The 72nd Venice International Film Festival has been officially opened at the beautiful Italian and will last till 12th September.

Baltasar Kormakur’s “Everest” kicked off the festival winning praise for its use of 3D technology and bursts of anxiety provided to the audience.

Turkish cinema has become a regular fixture in the Venice International Film Festival for almost a decade now. The festival will run its 72nd edition Sept. 2-21, and will have cinephiles talking about Turkish cinema during its course once again. The line-up will feature a Turkish film competing for the coveted Golden Lion and another for the Lion of the Future award, given to a first work.

The Istanbul Modern Cinema is offering a selection of films set in museums to mark International Museum Day, which is celebrated every year on May 18. 

BELGRADE - The Golden Seal as the greatest recognition of the Yugoslav Cinematheque was awarded to Russian Director Aleksandr Sokurov in Belgrade on Sunday.

BELGRADE - This year's International Film Festival FEST, the first competitive edition of the festival, officially opened in Belgrade's Sava Centre.

The 43rd FEST will be held under the slogan 'Here we are - in the constellation of winners'. The line-up will include 124 works of cinematic art - including 90 premieres - which will be shown by March 8 in a total of 242 screenings.
