Human right groups Amnesty International on Monday issued a statement urging Greek authorities to provide safe and clean housing to hundreds of migrants and refugees being evacuated from a makeshift camp at the site of the capital's former airport at Elliniko.

Egyptian authorities have frozen the assets of a prominent human rights group that works with torture victims, the head of the organization said on Nov. 10.
The move came months after authorities tried on two separate occasions to shut down the El Nadeem Centre for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture and Violence.
