Relatives of railway crash victims hold memorial, call for justice

A memorial service was held on Wednesday at the site of the railway crash in Tempe, central Greece, to honor the 57 individuals who lost their lives on February 28, 2023. Relatives and friends gathered to pay their respects, leaving flowers at the scene as they called for justice.

Bishop Anthimos of Thessaloniki resigns

Anthimos, the senior Greek Orthodox cleric in Thessaloniki in northern Greece, has tendered his resignation as conveyed through an official announcement on Tuesday. 

According to the announcement, the 88-year-old Bishop Anthimos formally submitted his resignation to Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos on Monday. 

Apostoli distributes food, medical supplies

Apostoli (Greek for Mission), the philanthropic organization of the Archdiocese of Athens under the Church of Greece, will be distributing food and medical supplies to 10,000 families in need, it has been announced.
"In these holy, but also difficult, days that we are all going through, we must not forget our fellow men, those who need a helping hand," Archbishop Ieronymos said.

Church charity distributes parcels go to 10,000 families

Archbishop Ieronymos blessed thousands of parcels containing food and basic necessities that were distributed on Tuesday by the Archdiocese of Athens to people in need.

The parcels were given to about 10,000 families, following an initiative of the General Philoptochos Fund and the Apostoli charity of the Archdiocese of Athens.
