Arisitides Alafouzos, owner of Kathimerini, dies
Kathimerini owner Aristides Alafouzos has died. He was 93.
Alafouzos was born on the Aegean island of Santorini in 1924. He qualified as a civil engineer in 1949. He founded his own construction company in 1956, before entering the shipping industry in 1964. During the military dictatorship in Greece he moved to London, where he stayed until 1988.
