Kasidiaris-Kanelli hearing postponed to December 12
An Athens court on Thursday postponed the trial of Golden Dawns Ilias Kasidiaris over charges of attempted grievous bodily harm to December 12. The postponement was due to industrial action called by court secretaries.
The case centered on charges brought against Kasidiaris by Greek Communist Party (KKE) deputy Liana Kanelli, following a televised brawl on June 2012.
Roma camp evacuation postponed; flow resumes on Mesogeion Avenue
Plans to evacuate and partially demolish a Roma encampment in the northern Athenian suburb of Halandri, erected nearly four decades ago on a site behind the present-day Nomismatokopio metro station, were called off on Tuesday amid protests from the camps residents and local authority representatives.
Korydallos Prison inmate found hanged in cell
A 25-year-old inmate of Korydallos Prison near Piraeus was found dead on Friday in what is being treated as a suicide.
Prison guards found the young man hanged in a disciplinary cell of Block A of the penitentiary, with bedsheet wrapped around his neck.
He had been serving a 13-year sentence for drug- and organized crime-related offenses.

Schedule for new metro line set out
Athens could have a new metro line running from Goudi to Galatsi via the city center by 2023, it was revealed Thursday as the government said it would launch a tender for the 1.2-billion-euro project in the fall of 2015.

Newly installed Attica Governor Rena Dourou is on a collision course with the government after she won a vote on Tuesday calling for the regional authority not to cooperate with the evaluation of public servants.
Attiki Odos Lamia exit to close Sunday
Drivers coming from Athens International Airport and wishing to get onto the national highway from the Attiki Odos on Sunday will not be able to take the Lamia exit, which will be closed due to roadworks, authorities announced Friday.
A diversion will be in place for northbound drivers.

First step toward transformation of Athenian Riviera
The first step toward the rejuvenation of the so-called Athens Riviera was taken on Tuesday with the transfer of 20 properties covering a total of of 3.64 square kilometers to special purpose company Attica Coastline SA.

Court rules PAO shouldn't get 7 mln euros for stadium revamp
The Court of Audit ruled on Tuesday that Panathinaikos soccer club should not receive 7 million euros from the Attica Regional Authority to improve its stadium at Alexandras Avenue in central Athens.
The court found that the transaction, approved by the previous Attica Governor Yiannis Sgouros, was not in the public interest.
Two motorcyclists killed in crash north of Athens
An investigation is under way on Wednesday after two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Kifissias Avenue in Maroussi, north of Athens.
The crash happened around 5.45 a.m.
The names of the two victims, both aged 20, have not been made public.
