Court rejects release demand of Doğan Group's Muratoğlu

The Istanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court has rejected the release demand of Doğan Group Ankara Administrative Representative Barbaros Muratoğlu, who has been under arrest on charges of "aiding an armed terrorist organization" as a part of an investigation into the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). 

Works from Aydın Doğan Cartoon Contest on display at Gallery Işık

Award-winning caricatures from the 33rd Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Contest are now on display at the Gallery Işık Teşvikiye. 

At a ceremony held for the opening of the exhibition on Feb. 9, Aydın Doğan Executive Committee President Candan Fetvacı noted that the contest had a 30-year history. 

BluTV turns one with first TV series

Turkey's first digital TV platform, BluTV, celebrated its first anniversary on Jan. 23 at an event held at the Trump Towers Cinemaximum Movie Theaters, during which Turkey's first online TV series, "Masum" (Innocent), was also launched. 

The event was attended by Doğan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan, Doğan TV managers, "Masum" actors as well as press members and many guests. 

Low participation from Ankara at this year's Davos

There will be a limited participation from Ankara at the 47th World Economic Forum in Davos on Jan. 17-20, due to the ongoing debates over the constitutional amendment vote.   

Unless there is a last minute change, Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek will participate, along with Central Bank Governor Murat Çetinkaya.

Doğan Publishing Holding, at the end of 2006, sold 25 percent of Doğan TV's shares to Germany's Axel Springer for 375 million euros (nearly $500 million). The deal was signed on Dec. 26, 2006.
