ISIL preparing to withdraw from al-Bab: Turkish military sources

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) jihadists have started to leave their positions and withdraw from the northwestern Syrian town of al-Bab following an intense military campaign conducted by the Turkish army and Free Syrian Army (FSA) elements, military sources said on Jan. 27.

Seventeen Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants were "neutralized" in northern Syria over the last 24 hours as part of the Euphrates Shield operation, the Turkish military said Jan. 25.      

Turkish authorities use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the militants in question were either killed, captured or incapacitated.
