Turkey, Singapore sign free trade declaration
Turkey and Singapore signed a joint declaration on Oct. 6 to establish a free trade agreement between the two countries on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in November.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Istanbul, Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said the countries had "come a long way in just 1-1.5 years."

5.2 earthquake shakes Turkey's Antalya
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck the Demre district of the southern Antalya province in the early hours of Oct. 7, with no casualties or serious material damages reported.
The epicenter of the quake, which took place at 12:27 a.m., was 34.92 kilometers below the Earth?s surface, data from Turkey?s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) showed.

Turkish minister says first indigenous electric car presented to cabinet this week
Turkey is advancing at full speed to launch the country's first domestic electric car, with plans to present the latest developments to ministers within the week, Technology Minister Fikri I??k said Oct. 6.
After the presentation to the cabinet is completed, further instructions from Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu will be awaited, I??k told reporters in Ankara.

A curfew has been declared in four neighborhoods in the Bismil district of the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r, a move that reportedly came after outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants dug trenches and erected barricades on the streets.
Drone over Istanbul airport disrupts landings
A commercial airline pilot reported a drone was flying over the final approach course at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, while attempting a landing on Oct. 6.
The pilot, while descending, informed the authorities at the control tower of the drone. Control tower authorities immediately contacted the police.
