The identities of 20 victims killed in an armed attack at a nightclub in central Istanbul on Jan. 1 have been confirmed and 15 have been identified as foreign citizens, while five of them were reported to be Turkish citizens, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said. 

The United Kingdom scolded U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for describing the Israeli government as the "most right-wing in Israeli history," a move that aligns British Prime Minister Theresa May more closely with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

An Israeli committee delayed a vote set for Dec. 28 on permits for settler homes after a request from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid further conflict with the United States, an official said.

The President-Elect had indirectly tried to influence the USA vote at the UN Security Council in order to veto the motion  condemning Israeli settlements in the Palestinian Territories. However, President Obama opted the USA to abstain.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is infuriated by UN Security Council’s Resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the occupied territories.

He characterized the motion “shameful” and called the ambassadors of the Security Council countries to rebuke their decision.
