Nigeria's air force killed at least 52 people and injured 120 in an air strike on a refugee camp in the country's northeast on Jan. 17, a spokesman from Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said after the military earlier disclosed the strike was meant to target Boko Haram militants. 

The Education Ministry is changing the curriculum again. The changes have been posted on the website of the ministry; it was also noted that they are open to views and suggestions. 

A military airplane bombed a refugee camp mistaken it for a Boko Haram camp. The death toll is over 100 people dead and many others wounded.

Last Saturday was a sad day globally and in Turkey. While twin attacks in the center of Istanbul killed 44 people and wounded more than 150, a suicide attack on a military base in Aden killed 48 and wounded at least 40 and, the next day, a bomb attack at Cairo's Coptic Cathedral killed 25 and wounded another 49.

The victims of terrorist attacks in western countries increased by 650% in 2015 even though there was a worldwide decrease of 10% , according to the 2016 Global Terrorism Index report.

The United Nations warned Nov. 15 that 75,000 Nigerian children risk dying in "a few months" as hunger grips the country's ravaged northeast in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency.

The number of child bombers used by the Islamic extremists of Boko Haram has increased from four to 44 in a year with devastating consequences in communities that now see children as threats, UNICEF said April 12.

Seventy-five percent of the children used are girls, a new report said, emphasizing that these children, many believed captives, are "victims, not perpetrators."
