Warhol, Miro, Banksy at Istanbul art fair

Works by world-famous artists will be showcased at the ArtInternational fair to be held between Sept. 4 and 6 in Istanbul. 

The third ArtInternational will gather pieces by pop-art icon Andy Warhol, British contemporary artist Grayson Perry, English graffiti artist Banksy, Catalan artist Joan Miro and Belgian multidisciplinary artist Jan Fabre.

'Small Differences' by Grayson Perry at Pera

Why has Queen Elizabeth II never visited Greece?

Queen Elizabeth II is probably the most well-traveled monarch. She has been to 116 countries on official visits, but not once to Greece even though her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, claims to be a “Greek Prince.” The reason could be the fact that the monarchy was overthrown in Greece affecting Prince Philip’s immediate family.

Daily Mail: Tsipras is financially illiterate

The Daily Mail, the popular British newspaper and news organization proposes that that British PM follows Greece’s negotiation strategy. This proposal, however is not accompanied by the best comments. The government is characterized as having far left Ministers who are classified as financially careless, while Alexis Tsipras himself is described as financially illiterate.

 

'Queen's vagina' sculpture at Versailles vandalised

Vandals have sprayed yellow paint on a controversial sculpture on display in the gardens of France's famed Palace of Versailles that has become known as the "queen's vagina".
 
"Damage to the work 'Dirty Corner' was discovered June 17 morning. It was lightly sprayed with paint. The work is being cleaned," the estate's management said.
