International Digital Film Festival | Athens | February 2-8

The annual Athens International Digital Film Festival (AIDFF) takes place in Athens from February 2 to 8, showcasing more than 150 movies from over 30 countries, including 60 premieres. The festival, now in its sixth year, brings together short and feature-length fiction films, video art, video dance, experimental film, animation, and short and feature-length documentaries.

'Hollyweed:' Prankster alters LA's landmark sign

The iconic hillside sign overlooking Southern California's film-and-television hub was defaced overnight in honor of marijuana. 

Residents awoke on Jan. 1 to find "Hollyweed" staring down at them in four-story, white letters from Los Angeles' Mount Lee, where a version of the picture-ready "Hollywood" sign was first erected in 1923.

The as-yet-unnamed new baby was being carried by her proud mother Tiffany Miles.
Tom’s son Chet Hanks, 26, was not with mom and daughter as they ran errands on December 13 close to Tiffany’s home in Indio, California.

LA bomb threat reported to FBI from foreign officials

A “very specific” threat has been called in from a foreign country against Los Angeles’ Red Line commuter rail system, US police say.
Law enforcement officials alerted the public to the threat at the news conference, saying it had been passed on to the FBI by authorities in another country, where the threat had originated.

Serbian documentary in American prisons

NEW YORK - The documentary "Notes from cell No. 12", co-produced by the Belgrade District Prison and the Center for rehabilitation through imagination NGO, has been screened in New York as part of the "Performing the world" international conference.

The project started in 2014 and the participants were convicts serving their sentences in the Belgrade prison.
