Ljubljana, 28 March – A EuroNight train taking passengers from Slovakia’s Bratislava via Vienna to Croatia’s coastal city of Split later this year will cross Slovenia, with stops in the Slovenian towns of Maribor, Celje, Sevnica and Dobova.

Celje – An explosion at the main bus station in the city of Celje, north-east of Ljubljana, at around 12.30pm today was caused by a gas leakage and injured three people. While they were all taken to the local hospital, none of them has suffered serious injuries.

LIFFe, a hugely popular festival that has also spread to Maribor, Celje and Novo Mesto, began in 1990 at Ljubljana's Cankarjev Dom arts centre as what was known as the international days of author film or Film Art Fest. There were 13 films screened the first year and some 4,000 visitors.

Leave the motorway at the exit Šempeter. If you are driving from Ljubljana, turn right at the first crossing to Šempeter at the first roundabout and take the second exit to Prebold. After 200 meters, just before the bridge, turn left to the camping park Latkova vas. Park there and climb to the embankment that braces the river against floods.

Born in Celje in 1950, Drnovšek, holder of a PhD in economics with a career in banking, was catapulted to the political scene in 1989, when he was elected the Slovenian representative to the Yugoslav collective presidency at a time of mounting tensions in the former republic.

Slovenian police have arrested a Serbian citizen and seized 10 kilos of cocaine he had in his possession during a routine traffic check in Levec, near Celje.

According to Ales Slapnik from the Celje police, "the 38-year-old Serbian and his partner, who was traveling with him in a car, have both been arrested," the STA agency reported.
