Greece to feature in French, Estonian TV shows
Greece and its attractions will feature in two popular television shows in France and Estonia this year with the backing of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT).
More specifically, France 5's highly rated travel show "Echappees Belles" will start shooting in the northern region of Macedonia and central Greece in June and is expected to air on September 14.

Cars torched in spree of arson attacks
Police in Attica were on Sunday seeking the perpetrators behind arson attacks on four parked cars and a motorcycle in different parts of the greater Athens area.
The vehicles targeted were in the city center and the suburbs of Nea Smyrni and Vari between 1.20 a.m. and 3.30 a.m.
The motive behind the attacks was unclear.

Two cars, campaign center set on fire
Two cars and a political campaign center were torched in separate incidents in the Attica area in the early hours of Friday, Skai reported.
Police were alerted to the first fire at 2.34 a.m., when a car was set alight on Papanastasiou Street in the Piraeus suburb of Keratsisni. About 10 minutes later, a second vehicle burst into flames in Acharnon, northwest of Athens.

Alternate minister dismisses trash crisis fears
Alternate Environment Minister Sokratis Famellos has downplayed concerns over a feared waste management crisis once the capital's main landfill in Fyli, northwestern Athens, runs out of space in under 10 months and is shut down.
"There is no danger regarding waste management... there is no infrastructure issue with regard to waste management in Attica," he said on Wednesday.

Police busts drug racket in Attica, arrests five
A racket that was peddling vast quantities of heroin from Iran was unraveled this week after a series of raids conducted across Attica.
Police said on Wednesday that five foreign nationals, aged 28, 31, 31, 35 and 53, were arrested and that they seized 45 kilos of heroin and a pistol during raids conducted in Ilion, Zofria, Kypseli, Dafni and Sepolia on Tuesday.

Wet weather to spread to Attica, Aegean
A new wet front that reached Greece on Friday afternoon, bringing rain to the Peloponnese and the mainland, was expected to spread across the Aegean overnight and affect Attica on Saturday.

April showers to come sweeping into Greece
April showers, along with some heavy storms, will be sweeping into Greece starting on Friday afternoon and lingering through the weekend, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) has said.
The wet front will come in from the southwest, hitting the Peloponnese and the western coast of the mainland first, before spreading to Crete and the Cycladic islands overnight.
