Ertflix attracts 500,000 visitors daily as platform turns 4

Ertflix, the state broadcaster ERT's movie and television series streaming platform, now attracts more than half a million views a day, four years after it was launched.

More than one in four users of the platform (28%) also use their mobile devices to watch their Ertflix content, ERT chairman Konstantinos Zoulas said.

Daycare workers suspended for locking toddlers in storage room

Two daycare workers at a nursery in the port city of Alexandroupolis, northern Greece, were suspended and an inquiry has been opened by the municipal authorities after they were accused of locking children in a storage room to discipline them. 

The two female former employees of the city's 2nd Nursery are also expected to be summoned by an examining magistrate on Monday.

The younger brother of the 18-year-old who fired a flare at a police officer, severely injuring him, during a volleyball match in Athens last week, testified to police on Wednesday, claiming he attempted to deter him. 

The 16-year-old boy was summoned to testify again because of inconsistencies between his testimony and that of his brother, sources said.

The younger brother of the 18-year-old who injured a police officer in Rentis with a flare testified to the police on Wednesday, claiming he attempted to deter him. According to state broadcaster ERT, the confessed perpetrator's relative asserted that he feared potential riots after he had observed many individuals holding Molotov cocktails, flares, and stones.

Three-year-old boy dies after choking on grape

A 3-year-old boy died after choking on a piece of fruit on the island of Tinos on Tuesday, as reported by the public broadcaster ERT.

According to ERT, the boy's father promptly rushed him to a police station near the family's residence. Subsequently, the child was quickly transported to the Tinos Health Center by a police vehicle.

Woman found dead in Pangrati with injuries from dog bites

A 60-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in central Athens early Saturday morning, bearing wounds from dog bites on her face, state-run broadcaster ERT reported. 

The woman was found by her son, who returned hole shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday and notified the police. ERT reported that officers found two pit-bulls in the house, owned by the woman's son.
