Rainfall will be particularly prevalent in the northwestern half of the country overnight, spreading across many areas during the day, accompanied by thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.

As Bulgarians prepare for the upcoming weekend, a diverse range of weather conditions is forecasted to sweep across the country. From sunny spells to potential rain showers and snowfall, here's what you need to know about the weather outlook for February 24 and 25.

February 24: A Mix of Sun and Clouds

Get ready for a pleasant midweek as Bulgaria braces for a day of dry, warm weather. According to meteorological forecasts, Wednesday promises a calm climate across the nation with temperatures hovering between minus 1 to 14 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures will be between minus 4°C and 3°C, in Sofia - around minus minus 4°C. In the morning hours, it will be foggy in many areas, which in the western regions of the Danube Plain and the Upper Thracian Plain, as well as in the valleys of Southwestern Bulgaria, will remain almost throughout the day.

Today it will be sunny, in the morning hours in isolated places in the lowlands and around water bodies there will be fog or low cloudiness. A light wind will blow from the east-southeast. Minimum temperatures - between 6°C and 11°C; maximum - between 22°C and 27°C, in Sofia around 23°C.

There have been many areas of rain and thunderstorms over the past 24 hours. And in the afternoon there will be showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the mountainous and eastern regions. A weak to moderate north-westerly wind will blow, along the Black Sea - a south-easterly wind. Maximum temperatures will be between 27°C and 32°C.

Today will be mostly sunny. After noon, cumulus clouds will develop and it will rain in some places in the western half of the country. There will be a light to moderate wind from the east-northeast, which will turn from the southeast in most areas by the end of the day.

It will be dangerously hot with maximum temperatures between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius, in Sofia around 33°C.

Before midday, the clouds will break from the west and reduce to mostly sunny weather, but there will be brief showers and thunderstorms in the eastern half of Bulgaria. There will be conditions for hail. The wind in the Danube plain will be oriented from the northwest and will be moderate, while in the other areas it will be from the north-northwest.

Today will be mostly sunny. A moderate wind will continue to blow from the west-northwest and the temperatures will drop a little more, the maximum will be mostly between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius, in Sofia around 27°C. In the evening and on the night of Tuesday in the western half of the country, it will rain, in the mountains and thunder.

Today, the maximum temperatures in most areas of Bulgaria will be between 30°C and 35°C, in Sofia - around 31°C, lower along the Black Sea from 26°C to 29°C.
