BOTAŞ, Gazprom dismiss reports on takeover
The Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) has dismissed reports in certain Turkish media outlets speculating that the company will be taken over by Russia's Gazprom.
The claims suggesting that BOTAŞ may be sold or transferred to a country or to a company are untrue," BOTAŞ said in a statement.

Jaguar may pick UK for battery plant
The Indian owner of carmaker Jaguar Land Rover is set to select Britain over Spain to for a giant battery plant employing up to 9,000 people, the BBC reported Wednesday.
The broadcaster, citing sources familiar with the matter, added that the boss of JLR owner Tata Motors was expected to fly into Britain next week to finalise the deal and meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Crude steel production declines in April
Türkiye's crude steel production declined by 20.6 percent in April compared with the same month of 2022, according to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
With its output at 2.7 million tons, Türkiye was the world's ninth-largest producer of crude steel.

Aselsan inks deal with Baykar
Aselsan, Türkiye's largest defense company, has signed an agreement with Baykar, the maker of Bayraktar drones, for electro-optical systems.
"An order has been received from Baykar Makina for electro-optical system deliveries with a total amount of $17.55 million," Aselsan announced in a filing with Borsa Istanbul.
