EU to get 50 million Pfizer doses early as US prolongs J&J pause

The European Union said on April 14 that it is expecting 50 million Pfizer coronavirus vaccine doses earlier than expected, as the United States said it would continue a pause in vaccinations using the Johnson & Johnson shot for at least another week so regulators can assess possible blood clot links.

Turkey fines Google $36.6 mln for breaking competition law

Turkish authorities on April 14 fined Google 296 million Turkish liras ($36.6 million) for violating the country's competition law.

Turkey's Competition Authority said Google violated the law by complicating organic search results in the content services market by prominently placing text ads at the top of its general search results, excluding its competitors.

Six cases were detected in more than 6.8 million doses of the vaccine, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.

Johnson & Johnson has paused its EU rollout, which started this week.

Ljubljana – Slovenia Sovereign Holding (SSH) published a takeover bid for spa operator Terme Olimia on Friday, offering EUR 27.50 per share for a total of just over 158,000 shares. The offer stands until 10 May unless extended, according to the bid published in the newspaper Delo.
