Civil Aviation extends flight restrictions through Aug. 31
A new notice to airmen issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Wednesday extends travel bans with Balkan and European countries through August 31, to protect passengers and residents of Greece from a rise in new coronavirus cases.
According to the notice:
- Flights between Greece and Turkey remain suspended to August 31 (midnight).

Fire on Greek island ferry extinguished after 3 days
Authorities in Greece say a fire on a ferry connecting the mainland to the island of Crete has been put out after raging for three days.
Causes of ferry blaze being examined
Arson experts were busy over the weekend investigating the cause of a fire on one of the vehicle decks of the Eleftherios Venizelos ferry. The investigation got under way after firefighters were able to fully extinguish the last traces of the fire on Saturday.
