DNA seeks approval for remand and pre-trial arrest of outgoing FinMin Darius Valcov
Head of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi on Thursday requested the notification of the Senate for the remand and pre-trial arrest of Darius Valcov, who tendered his resignation as Minister of Public Finance.

Zagreb Court Prolongs Custody for Mayor
A panel of judges at Zagreb County Court on Thursday rejected an appeal by lawyers for Mayor Milan Bandic and prolonged his stay behind bars.
Bandic was placed in custody on Tuesday last week on suspicion of influencing a witness, forging official documents and blocking the judicial process.

MP Udrea at DNA to substantiate denunciation against acting SRI head Coldea
MP Elena Udrea on Wednesday showed up at the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) to substantiate her denunciation against acting head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) Florian Coldea.

Hundreds of Albanians have to endure insufficient space and bad conditions in pre-trial detention centres as a result of the unusually high number of people awaiting trial for electricity theft and breaches of the driving code.
It was creating conditions for "inhuman and degrading treatment", Rustemi said in a press conference on Monday.

Former DIICOT head Alina Bica suspended as magistrate
The prosecutors section of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM) decided on Monday to suspend Alina Bica as magistrate and also approved the cessation of her activity as a prosecutor with the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), following her remand in custody for 30 days.
