EU commissioner calls for speedier asylum processing
As Greece continues to struggle with an increase in arrivals of undocumented migrants from neighboring Turkey, the European commissioner for migration said on Wednesday that a European Union agreement with Ankara to curb people smuggling is working well but that more effort is needed to accelerate asylum applications.
Bulgaria Has Received 50 Migrants From Greece Under the EU Relocation Quotas
Bulgaria has received so far 50 migrants from Greece under the EU relocation quotas, data of the European Commission presented on September 6, reported Standart News.
Bulgaria promised to receive 860 migrants from Greece. No migrants were received by the beginning of this week from Italy and Turkey.
Bulgaria has to receive from Italy 471 under that agreement.

Greek asylum service releases new relocation statistics
Greece's Asylum Service on Friday published data showing that more than 18,000 asylum seekers were relocated from Greece to other countries in the European Union from October 2015 until August 27 of this year and that flights are already scheduled for another 984 people.

EU states to start return of migrants to Greece
Germany and other European countries are to begin the process of returning refugees to Greece next month, Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas has told a British newspaper, at a time when arrivals of undocumented migrants on Greek islands from neighboring Turkey are increasing.
