At the border checkpoints Kalotina, Kapitan Andreevo and Danube Bridge in Vidin the traffic is intensive, data from 7:00 am of the Ministry of Interior shows.

At the Kalotina border checkpoint the traffic is intensive at the entrance for cars, Kapitan Andreevo - at the exit for trucks and at the Danube Bridge at Vidin at the entrance and at the exit for both cars and trucks.

The Romanian authorities will hand over to Bulgaria 6 alleged telephone fraudsters who were detained in the neighbouring country, sources from the Prosecutor's office told BNT on 7th of May. The court in Bucharest has allowed the extradition, reports BNT. 

There is heavy truck traffic from Bulgaria on the Danube Bridge Ruse checkpoint, Border Police said this morning. Traffic flow through all other border checkpoints in the country is normal. Traffic data was reported as of 6 am.

There is heavy truck traffic to Romania through Danube Bridge Vidin checkpoint, according to Border Police data as of 6.00 am. On all other crossings the passage of vehicles is normal. 

As of 6.00 am, there is heavy truck traffic on the Bulgarian borders with Greece, Serbia, Turkey and Romania. Border Police reported considerable inbound traffic on Kalotina checkpoint, while on Kulata, Kapitan Andreevo, Lesovo and Danube Bridge many trucks are leaving Bulgaria. On the border with Macedonia, there is normal traffic on all checkpoints.

It is expected this year the millionth car to pass through Danube Bridge 2, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

For the first time since the facility was opened, the annual number of vehicles passed on will exceed one million.

 There are about 2800 vehicles crossing the bridge a day, with more than half of them being heavy-duty.

Sofia. The General Directorate of Traffic Police reported the following traffic situation at the Bulgarian borders:
Heavy traffic of automobiles exiting Bulgaria at the border with Serbia through Kalotina checkpoint and at the border with Greece at Kulata and Makaza checkpoints. 

Due to heavy snowfall and storm wind the traffic on Trakia Motorway in the section from Karnobat to Bourgas is stopped, and in the section between Yambol and Karnobat is limited for vehicles above 12 tons, the press center of the Road Infrastructure Agency announced.

Vidin - Calafat Danube Bridge (between Bulgaria and Romania) will be temporarily closed to all vehicle traffic, in both directions, from 13:00 to 14:00 on 18th of October, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced, quoted by BNT. 

The closure is required due to routine technical maintainance of the bridge, Border Police explains.

Ventsislav Haladzhov said traffic through the Danube Bridge has increased twice in a year, and according to Ruse Regional Governor Galin Grigorov, the solution for the congestion of the facility is to build a parallel bridge that would connect to the future Rousse-Veliko Tarnovo highway.
