Turkish Central Bank signs agreement for digital currency
The Turkish Central Bank signed an agreement with defense and technology firms Aselsan and Havelsan, and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) for the research, development and testing processes of potential digital Turkish lira.

Turkey Bans Cryptocurrency Use for Payments
The Turkish central bank (also known as CBRT or TCMB) has issued "Regulation on the Disuse of Crypto Assets in Payments." It was published Friday in the official newspaper of the Turkish government.
The central bank also announced Friday that "studies on the regulation regarding the disuse of crypto assets in payments have been completed."

Ljubljana – The Slovenian central bank held a virtual debate on Thursday which heard that, although payments in the eurozone are still mostly done in cash, the increasing digitalisation forces banks to consider introducing the digital euro.
