The Onassis Cultural Center (Onassis.org) is extending the run of the musical stage adaptation of Yiannis Economides' "Matchbox," to January 22. The critically acclaimed 2002 drama blows open the Pandora's box of the classic Greek family, the "good neighbor" and the closely knit community.

Ahead of opening day on Monday, open-air movie theaters in Athens are putting the finishing touches in their venues, tidying up, disinfecting, pruning the plants and arranging the seating so there's a distance of at least 1.5 meters between members of the audience.

Yiannis Oikonomidis (trumpet, vocals), Giorgos Anamateros (piano, vocals) and Periklis Trivolis (double bass) will be performing popular jazz standards as well as original work at the cafe of the Numismatic Museum from 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 15. Admission is free with a one-drink minimum charge.
